Dry blasting is more in line with your traditional sandblasting. There is no water or other additives.
Dry blasting has its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:
- Easier to clean up
- Can re coat quickly as no dry time
- Easily portable
Disadvantages:
- Very Dusty
- Heat build up can be an issue in panel steel
- More sparks/fire risk
- Less efficient than vapour blasting
Dry blasting is great for smaller jobs in areas that arent dust sensitive. Great for be able to blast and paint same day even when temperatures are cold.
Shot Blasting
Shot blasting is when small steel balls are used as the abrasive. This is great for leaving a texture in a surface such as aluminum moulds etc. however it is very difficult to clean up and can lead to rust marks on the ground as the steel balls rust. Best suited to an enclosed area.
